Apna Swad — Dussehra festive handmade Bihari sweets

Dussehra: The Victory of Good, and a Table Full of Ghar Ka Swaad

Buraai par acchaai ki jeet — the victory of good over evil.

Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, is the day the Navratri story comes to its triumphant close — Ram over Ravan, Maa Durga over Mahishasura. Across Bihar it's marked with Ravan dahan, fresh starts and new beginnings, and — of course — something sweet shared with the people we love.

The Bihari festive table

In our homes, a festival is never quite complete without ghar ka swaad: warm thekua made in pure desi ghee, flaky perukiya filled with khoya and dry fruits, and crisp nimki for the chai that never stops. This year, something new has joined the thali — our Shree Anna millet range, six heritage grains turned into handmade nimki.

Made the honest way

Everything from our kitchen is handmade in small batches, with no maida, no palm oil and zero preservatives — the way nani and dadi made it, now simply delivered to your door. Whether you're sending a box to family across the country or keeping the table full at home, it carries a little of Bihar with it.

Gifting, made easy

Our festive gift boxes and bundles are ready to send — thekua, perukiya, nimki and the new millet range, with free delivery across India. And with Diwali and Chhath just around the corner, now is a lovely time to order ahead and gift fresh.

From all of us at Apna Swad, Happy Dussehra — may good always win, and may your table always be full.

Ghar ka swaad, apno ke liye.
